Code Monkey - New!!
Code Monkey is a game that requires you to move a monkey around the screen to pick up a banana. There is a professor who pops up at the beginning of each level with tips on how to do the new skills. It is a simple game and easy to pick up. I would use this game with 8+ as the instructions are text based. This game uses typed instructions and is not a visual tool with blocks. There are buttons to insert key words which will assist slow typers and poor spellers.

Kodu a free download from the Microsoft website is uses visual programming to develop a games. Kodu operates on Windows. To run it on a Mac you will need a virtual windows computer such as Bootcamp or Parallels (These are just two examples of software to run windows on a mac. It is not a recommendation as I do not use a virtual machine)
